🖥️ Connect via RDP to your Windows VPS
This guide explains how to connect to your Windows VPS provided by Infrawire using the RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) from different operating systems.
📧 Connection Information
Important : Connection information (IP address, username, password) is sent by email after your order. If you have not received this information, please contact Infrawire support.
The information needed to connect is:
- IP Address : The public IP address of your Windows VPS
- Username : Usually
Administratoror the one provided in the email - Password : The password provided in the confirmation email
🪟 Connection from Windows
Step 1: Open Remote Desktop Connection

Windows + Rto open the Run dialog -
Type
mstscand pressEnterOr search for "Remote Desktop Connection" in the Start menu
Step 2: Enter connection information
- In the Computer field, enter the IP address of your Windows VPS
- Click Show Options for more settings
- (Optional) In the Display tab, you can adjust the resolution
- (Optional) In the Local Resources tab, you can enable file/clipboard sharing
Step 3: Connect
- Click Connect
- Enter the username (usually
Administrator) - Enter the password provided in the email
- Check Remember credentials if you wish
- Click OK
Step 4: Accept the certificate
If a certificate warning appears, click Yes to continue.
You should now be connected to your Windows VPS!
🍎 Connection from macOS
Step 1: Install Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Open the App Store on your Mac
- Search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop"
- Click Get or Install
Step 2: Add a connection
- Open Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Click the + button (Add PC)
- Fill in the information:
- PC Name : A name of your choice (e.g., "My Windows VPS")
- User Account :
Administratoror the one provided in the email - Password : The password provided in the email
- PC : The IP address of your Windows VPS
Step 3: Connect
- Double-click the connection you just created
- If a certificate warning appears, click Continue
- You are now connected to your Windows VPS!
📱 Connection from iOS (iPhone/iPad)
Step 1: Install Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Open the App Store on your iPhone/iPad
- Search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop"
- Tap Get then Install
Step 2: Add a connection
- Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop app
- Tap the + button at the top right
- Select Add PC
- Fill in the information:
- PC Name : A name of your choice
- User Account :
Administratoror the one provided in the email - Password : The password provided in the email
- PC : The IP address of your Windows VPS
Step 3: Connect
- Tap the connection you just created
- If a certificate warning appears, tap Continue
- Use touch gestures to navigate your Windows VPS
🤖 Connection from Android
Step 1: Install Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device
- Search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop"
- Tap Install
Step 2: Add a connection
- Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop app
- Tap the + button at the bottom right
- Select Add PC
- Fill in the information:
- PC Name : A name of your choice
- User Account :
Administratoror the one provided in the email - Password : The password provided in the email
- PC : The IP address of your Windows VPS
Step 3: Connect
- Tap the connection you just created
- If a certificate warning appears, tap Continue
- Use touch gestures to navigate your Windows VPS
🔧 Recommended Settings
For a better experience, we recommend the following settings:
- Resolution : Adapt it to your screen
- Quality : High quality for a better visual experience
- File Sharing : Enable it if you want to transfer files between your computer and the VPS
- Clipboard Sharing : Enable it for easy copy-paste
❓ Common Issues
Cannot connect
- Check your Internet connection
- Check the IP address : Make sure you have the correct IP address
- Check the firewall : The RDP port (3389) must be open
- Contact Infrawire support if the problem persists
Password doesn't work
- Check that you are using the correct username (usually
Administrator) - Check the confirmation email for the exact password
- Make sure Caps Lock is off
- Contact Infrawire support if the problem persists
Slow connection
- Check your Internet connection
- Reduce display quality in RDP settings
- Disable visual effects on the Windows VPS if necessary
