🖥️ Connect via RDP to your Windows VPS

This guide explains how to connect to your Windows VPS provided by Infrawire using the RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) from different operating systems.

📧 Connection Information

The information needed to connect is:

• IP Address : The public IP address of your Windows VPS
• Username : Usually Administrator or the one provided in the email
• Password : The password provided in the confirmation email

🪟 Connection from Windows

Step 1: Open Remote Desktop Connection

1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog

2. Type mstsc and press Enter

   Or search for "Remote Desktop Connection" in the Start menu

Step 2: Enter connection information

1. In the Computer field, enter the IP address of your Windows VPS
2. Click Show Options for more settings
3. (Optional) In the Display tab, you can adjust the resolution
4. (Optional) In the Local Resources tab, you can enable file/clipboard sharing

Step 3: Connect

1. Click Connect
2. Enter the username (usually Administrator)
3. Enter the password provided in the email
4. Check Remember credentials if you wish
5. Click OK

Step 4: Accept the certificate

If a certificate warning appears, click Yes to continue.

You should now be connected to your Windows VPS!

🍎 Connection from macOS

Step 1: Install Microsoft Remote Desktop

1. Open the App Store on your Mac
2. Search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop"
3. Click Get or Install

Step 2: Add a connection

1. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop
2. Click the + button (Add PC)
3. Fill in the information:
   • PC Name : A name of your choice (e.g., "My Windows VPS")
   • User Account : Administrator or the one provided in the email
   • Password : The password provided in the email
   • PC : The IP address of your Windows VPS

Step 3: Connect

1. Double-click the connection you just created
2. If a certificate warning appears, click Continue
3. You are now connected to your Windows VPS!

📱 Connection from iOS (iPhone/iPad)

Step 1: Install Microsoft Remote Desktop

1. Open the App Store on your iPhone/iPad
2. Search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop"
3. Tap Get then Install

Step 2: Add a connection

1. Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop app
2. Tap the + button at the top right
3. Select Add PC
4. Fill in the information:
   • PC Name : A name of your choice
   • User Account : Administrator or the one provided in the email
   • Password : The password provided in the email
   • PC : The IP address of your Windows VPS

Step 3: Connect

1. Tap the connection you just created
2. If a certificate warning appears, tap Continue
3. Use touch gestures to navigate your Windows VPS

🤖 Connection from Android

Step 1: Install Microsoft Remote Desktop

1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android device
2. Search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop"
3. Tap Install

Step 2: Add a connection

1. Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop app
2. Tap the + button at the bottom right
3. Select Add PC
4. Fill in the information:
   • PC Name : A name of your choice
   • User Account : Administrator or the one provided in the email
   • Password : The password provided in the email
   • PC : The IP address of your Windows VPS

Step 3: Connect

1. Tap the connection you just created
2. If a certificate warning appears, tap Continue
3. Use touch gestures to navigate your Windows VPS

🔧 Recommended Settings

For a better experience, we recommend the following settings:

• Resolution : Adapt it to your screen
• Quality : High quality for a better visual experience
• File Sharing : Enable it if you want to transfer files between your computer and the VPS
• Clipboard Sharing : Enable it for easy copy-paste

❓ Common Issues

Cannot connect

1. Check your Internet connection
2. Check the IP address : Make sure you have the correct IP address
3. Check the firewall : The RDP port (3389) must be open
4. Contact Infrawire support if the problem persists

Password doesn't work

1. Check that you are using the correct username (usually Administrator)
2. Check the confirmation email for the exact password
3. Make sure Caps Lock is off
4. Contact Infrawire support if the problem persists

Slow connection

1. Check your Internet connection
2. Reduce display quality in RDP settings
3. Disable visual effects on the Windows VPS if necessary
